Leveraging LLMs for Clinical Impact Today

Dr. Rajesh Bhayana is an Abdominal Radiologist and Technology Lead at the Joint Department of Medical Imaging (JDMI) at Toronto General Hospital, and Assistant Professor of Radiology at the University of Toronto. He completed his radiology residency at U of T, where he served as Chief Resident, and pursued a clinical fellowship in Abdominal Imaging at Massachusetts General Hospital.

Dr. Bhayana’s research focuses on the practical application of large language models (LLMs) in radiology — including projects to auto-generate clinical histories, auto-protocol imaging studies, and calculate cancer risk scores — with a direct focus on improving patient care. He is also the founder of Navigating Radiology, an online learning platform with over 140,000 subscribers and more than 6 million lecture views globally, which debuted an “AI Attending” voice mode at RSNA 2025.
