From Chaos to Care in Conflict Settings

Dr. Ian Furst is an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon at Coronation Dental Specialty Group and Cambridge Memorial Hospital in Ontario, and CEO of the Swisscross Foundation, a humanitarian organization supporting healthcare providers in conflict and disaster zones.

Dr. Furst completed his training at the University of Toronto and has served as a maxillofacial surgeon with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Lebanon. He is also an Instructor in the Graduate Program in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Toronto and a Council member of Canada’s National Cyber Security Leadership Council.

Through Swisscross, Dr. Furst has developed surgical training programs and medical technology tools for clinicians working in high-risk and resource-constrained environments, including Syria, Yemen, and Iraq.
