7th annual practical course in medical imaging informatics & teleradiology

The Medical Imaging Informatics and Teleradiology course addresses issues arising from the growing penetration of computers in medicine and the need to understand the new technologies necessary to acquire, process, store, and exchange medical images. This annual conference brings together experienced speakers to cover challenging topics in the field of medical imaging informatics and provides a unique opportunity to approach the experts and find answers to questions and issues.

For its 7th edition, MIIT will take place Friday May 13 and Saturday May 14 in Toronto, and will cover 4 topics of interest involving the use of computers in medical imaging applications, and how computing can help improving our performances:

  • Diagnostically Acceptable Irreversible Compression (DAIC): from infancy to implementation, what is the situation in 2011.
  • Quality Assurance in Radiology; is this realistic? What lessons did we learn from other industries?
  • Radiation safety in the digital age: what is the risk, how do we monitor our exposure and should we do it?
  • More with less: how can we improve our productivity in a shrinking healthcare economy?

This conference is intended for an audience of healthcare professionals: radiologists, physicians, technologists, PACS managers, DI managers, IT professionals, CIO/CTO's, industry representatives.
